It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Hey Y'all!
It's been a while.  I know.  I will try to do better.  I now have a newer phone so I may be able to write some from the app on it, if I can get that darn virtual keyboard to learn the hick language.

The weather now has a crisp in the air and the time has now slipped back into its norm.  When all of this aligns it is known to me officially as... holiday season.  With the self proclaimed season its time for me to start crafting holiday decorations to put at The Weathered Home.  Below, you will see my latest delivery, an 80 inch tall snowman complete with a top hat!  I was hoping to have a shorter lad to arrive with him but I forgot to predrill the holes for the screws in the eyes and they /both cracked. If anyone is in the market for a blind snowman, I can hook you up until I get him a new set made.  If you are in the market for a 6' 8" snowman you can find this one at The Weathered Home at 217 Avery Ave. Morganton.  Tell them I sent you and where you found this post and get 10% off the cost of this guy but hurry he may not last long.  There will probably be more that I will put the same deal on so check back often.

The Christmas open house at the Weathered home is next Saturday 11/9/2019 10am to 6pm.  Stop by and start your holiday shopping season with us!  We will be demonstrating all of our paint brands (Debi's Design Diary DIY, General Finishes and the newest brand Dixie Belle), Iron Orchid Designs moulds, stamps as well as other demos and you can pick up a little snack while you are there.  Stop by and say hi and see the hidden gem and talented artists Morganton has to offer.

Thanks for stopping by.  I will try to update more often.  In the meantime, the following are some local (to Morganton NC) Facebook pages I suggest checking out to get you inspired to create your own projects!

Recast Painted Furniture

The Hunny Hush Boutique

Have a great day y'all!

New Name = New Game Plan!

(That's fancy talk for HEY Y'ALL)
Everybody's Got Their Something webpage is now known as...

Everybody does have their something, but not everybody can find the page with that long name, hence forth the name change and an amped up motivation.

The Etsy shop has now been renamed, a NEW FACEBOOK PAGE has been established (more to come on that later) and the Instagram page has been updated with the new name.

Share it far and wide (with your friends on Facebook, Instagram and all across the land) that Everybody's Got Their Something is now know as VINTAGE RUSTIQUES!

Thanks Y'all!

It's been a long time...

March 20, 2019

I can't believe its been almost a year since my last post!

In the last year I have taken my Itty Bitty Shasta out once to Linville Falls.  It was a great time and I get to meet some really nice people from the vintage camper group that I joined.  I can't wait to go back and see my new friends again.  I have kept up with them through the power of Facebook to see what adventures that have been on during the long winter.  Itty Bitty looks so lonely down there, but this year I have two, possibly three camping trips planned.  I sure hope everything works out that I will get to go.  I enjoy taking her out so much!  People just love to take a gander at her.

Today is the first day of spring.  Finally the time has come to start shedding the cover of winter and loose those winter layers for some lighter colors and coverings.  I can't wait, but I keep in the back of my mind that here in North Carolina the weather changes like you change your underwear, so there is a possibility that there could be more snow that may make it down this way.  I mean, I have seen it snow in late April before.  At any rate, the weather will warm up a bit and I will be dragging that drop cord and water hose down to the camper cover and start spring cleaning in Itty Bitty.  Maybe, I'll camp out in the yard one night!!!  What Fun!

Ok so, Since I have written last I have stopped consigning in one of my regular spots and taken on a booth rental at a little place called The Weathered Home here in Morganton where I refurb furniture and make odds and ends to sell.  I'm doing surprisingly well with this and actually have some spare time now that I've given up one of the stores.  I feel like a can take a day off and not feel guilty because I've not made anything that day.  I bought me a new stencil cutter and can now make nearly any sign thrown my way.  Just recently a customer asked me to make a very long sign and the cutter did the work in about 4 minutes where it would have taken me hours upon hours and a huge back ache to cut just cut the stencil.  I'll post pictures of that when I get it completed which should be later on this week.

Here are a few of the things that I've got in my booth.

Ahhh lunch break is almost over so I will close out now and get back to my day job.  Happy hump day everyone!  I hope the next couple days fly by and the weekend will be very spring like.
